reroofing with a rubber roof in winter

reroofing with a rubber roof in winter

hi all
i have a flat roof with roll asfalt roofing material
i had some leaks in different areas i guess it's time to reroof
i want to reroof with EPDM rubber roofing with underlayment

few questions here

could i apply this roofing material over the old roofing materal?

could i do it now or i need to wait till summer?

a) there is some snow on the roof right now and i'll clean it up
but my consern is moisture will be traped under the new roofing material as i said the roof had some leaks so there still might be some moisture traped there

b) how flexible is this material in cold weather in 25 F

Wait For Warmer Weather

Rubber Roofing Is All About The Steps One Must Take To Get It Done Right The Addhesive Or Glue To Most People Will Freeze In The Cold Weather Making Alot Of Problems When Trying To Put Down The Rubber If It Dont Stick Your Screwed Wrinkles Bubbles Just A Mess To Deal With If You Want It To Look Good Read Into It Before You Do It

Rolled asphalt roofing?

Hi, I need to get an addition on my house re-roofed soon.It measures 15ft x13ft. it currently has rolled asphalt roofing on it,its old and wind damaged. This roof slopes about 15-20 inches over 15ft.The rolled roofing seemed o:k,but didn't seem to last long compared to tab shingles??? I wondered what your thoughts were on doing a rubber roof on this instead? Is a rubber roof cheaper?will it stand up better?I live in Mass. Also can you tell me how much rolled roofing I need to buy for this roof?Also whats the difference bettween single and double rolled roofing?Thanks. How to tell if roof is leaking.....

After the last batch of heavy rain up here in CT, in certain spots of my 2nd floor I can swear I smell an odor of damp wood (almost smells like wet cedar). We have a cathedral ceiling that runs from the 1st to second floor, and the odor is on the 2nd floor under that ceiling (even on the 2nd floor the ceiling is still 13' high off the 2nd floor hallway) I dont have any visible water stains/spots/marks in the area of the odor. I do have a visible water mark below an old window, but I smell the odor in areas that are far away from that spot (I know the cause of that spot, just waiting for warm weather to fix it). The underside of the attic looks OK, and again no spots/stains that I can see. Im mostly wondering (worried?) that the leak *might* be in the cathedral ceiling that I cant get to, but Im not sure of that because of the lack of staining. We also had our windows replaced 2 years ago, but have never had a problem.....I suppose one of the windows could be leaking, but I dont see any external evidence of that either.
