noisey gutters

I have a section of straight gutter that always howls when the wind is strong, I have tried wedging shims in between the gutter and roof but it doesn't help much unless i'm working in the wrong area.
what can i do?

Is the sound more like a low pitched whistle from the wind howling... or is there metal vibration that is creating a honking or vibrating? Or is it high pitched?

The only thing I can think of is that it might be a resonance vibration kind of like when you blow across the mouth of a beer bottle and it makes that low bass sound. It might be occuring at your downspouts.

If that's the case, one thing that might help is some type of foam gutter guard, or some other type of gutter cover that would block some of the wind.

Got any ideas of how I can test to figure out whats causing this problem before trial and error buying.

It for sure sounds like a resonate problem

I suppose you could make a "lid" for the downspout by placing a 3" wide strip of cardboard in the bottom of the gutter, directly over the downspout and see if it stops the noise.
