New Gutters/Facia Boards
Hey:
I am in the process of replacing the gutters on our home. The photo shows some of the problems we have. We are replacing any and all boards that have dry rot.
You can see them here at:

I have primed all the new 1 x 8's on all sides, my question is do I need to apply paint to all sides, since only about 2" shows below the gutters? I have a good exterior latex paint.
So, will the primer provide protection vs painting all of the board, front, back and sides?
Thanks in advance and take care

Wood that is primed and painted on all 6 sides will last much longer (actually the paint job will last longer) than wood that is only partially painted. Primer provides no long term protection for wood- its purpose is to help the topcoat bond to the wood. The topcoat is what provides the best protection from the elements.
