Leaking lower roof meeting 2nd story wall

The house I just bought is a two story, but the second story doesnt cover the entire first floor. The lower roof line meets the wall climbing up the second story, and this is where I am guessing the leak is. The original roof was shingle, and the previous owner topped that with a metal roof. It appears as if there was caulking in the corner edge where the lower roof meets the stucco second story wall. How should I try to resolve the leak? It isnt terrible, so I am guessing some type of roofing caulk? I am hoping to not de-roof that area.

I would use a good Elastomeric polymer sealant with good flexibility and tensile stength. You could probably even closely match the color of your metal. You can get sealants of this nature that will adhere to stucco and metal.

Wink

Id say you have to flash it right. With metal flashing. Like a L bent to fit the wall and down on the roof. on the top of that L a 1/2" bent in. Now cut a line in the stucco second story wall that that top bend will go into and seal it with a good caulk.

Are you describing a situation like this, were a vertical wall meets a sloped roof?
