Putting up Vinyl Gutters - How to attach?
I have HardyPlank and Brick on my downspout gutters. How do you attach the clips to HardyPlank? Is there a special screw?
How do you attach the clips to brick? Do you attach it to the mortar or the brick part? Thanks!

Downspout
Downspout is very light weight. I attach the bands with screws. I drill a 1/4 inch hole in the mortar joint and insert a plastic anchor. Then use #8 screws. I have not had a failure yet.

save yourself the lesson, get seamless aluminum gutters, use a raytec braket with galvanized screws, and use a screw moly for fastening leaders to the wall-drill the hole thru hardi and into wall insert moly sleeve, then screw,do not leave moly solely into hardi plank, secure it to the wall behind it instead
michael thomas`s "mortar plugs"are more commonly referred to as lead molys, and you are better served to use the type with a screw,as the hammered version are permanent
