Single ply membrane roof repair

I actually have two questions. In an inspection report to purchase a house, it stated 1) the roof single ply membrane should be coated with "silver" coating to extend life and reflect sun. Is that correct? What kind of "silver" coating? 2) there was a section of the roof that needed a repair patch. What does one use to repair/patch such a roof. Area to be repaired/patched is less than 1 sqft
Iwould appreciate any help and clarification.

Single ply roofs don't need coatings. There are numerous types of single plys. Epdm(rubber), TPO, PVC Ect..
You need to know what you have exactly before a repair material can be decided upon.
