Help Roof

I have built a shed that is 8' on one side and 7' on the other. Now I am shingling it and I am curious how you finish the top end of the shingles off. Do you just have to tar the nails? There is noway to get a cap on it. Any way I was just hoping to get some answers. Thanks, Sherie

You can purchase ridge shingles but it's just as easy to make them. Basically you cut down 3 tabs and install them overlapping lengthwise on the ridge. Each successive shingle covers the nails of the one before. Adjust the exposure to closely match your other shingles and still come out with an even shingle at the end. The last ridge shingle is doubled and it's nails are sealed.

google ridge cap shingles and you'll find lots of info.
