Roofing question, drip edge????

does drip edge go only on the eaves or the rakes(sides) as well?

There are some around here that only use it on the eaves.... and a few that don't install any

IMO you should use the drip edge all the way around.

Agree all around......
I think there are diff ways to install it on the eve and the rake though. Saw the discussion on here before..seemed like it was over the paper on the eave and under on the rake? Or vice-versa? Don't trust me on either...lol

#1-is it more important(drip edge) on the eaves than the rakes?

#3-whats the difference between drip edge and ice shield?

More important on the eaves.

Protects the roof decking edge from water and supports the shingles.

Ice shield is a rubberized membrane to protect the roof from ice dams. Drip edge is a fabricated metal component.
