Attaching Downspout To Vinyl Siding
I had my house resided last year with insulated vinyl siding. The installer overall did a good job, but they didn't reattach the aluminum downspouts.
To stabilize it, I've added sheet metal screws connecting the gutter to the elbows and the elbows to the downspout. But it can shift around a bit.
Is it standard installation to just drill connectors into the vinyl siding?
Is there a clip available to connect the downspouts to the house without having to drill into the vinyl siding?
Other options I've not mentioned?
Thanks.

there is a u-shaped clip, that goes behind the leader, you attach it thru the center of the clip with 1 5/8" galvanized gutter screws-1 into center of clip thru wall, then you use 1/2" self tapping sheet metal screws to attach the sides of the clip to the leader-the screws come color coordinated-Don`t worry about going thru the siding,it`s not a problem
