Smile roof questions

If the roof is framed with trusses(looks like a "W") there is enough support. If it is common framed(ceiling joists from outside to center wall and rafters from outside wall to roof peak) then there should be a knee wall(short wall) from the ceiling joists to the rafters for support if the rafters are 2x4. 2x6 rafters are usually sufficient, depending on your location and snowfall, it the span(outside wall to center) is not over 12 ft.. With common framing, there should be a vertical support under the roof ridge at lease every 8 ft. and collar ties(board from one rafter to the other) about every 4 ft.. Different locals have different restrictions/requierment. The ones I gave are common place in Tennessee. Lots of other builders here to assist. Also, pitch of roof comes into the equation. Good luck and welcome to the forum!
