Question Roof Tear Off - cleanup

I am having my cedar roof torn off and replaced with composition. Each of my quotes has indicated "Homeowner may wish to place visqueen in attic to catch dust and debris". Looking at this to place visqueen leaves me with no desire to do so unless it is really necessary. Should I make the effort or can I clean up in the area we use as storage after the job is complete? Thanks

If the attic area has a floor down the you could probably clean up after they are finished. But if there is no flooring then the debris will fall into the insulation and is very hard to remove. Think about removing splinters of wood from insulation...not easy to do. If you lay plastic or dropcloths then you need only fold it up from the outside edges in to clean up the mess. Dirt and debris will lower the insulation value. But if you have a floor then you can sweep and vacuum later.
