chimney shoulder flashing - is this right?
still wrestling with an annoying water leak. is the proper way to flash a chimney shoulder stone?
the flashing extends an inch or so beyond the stone and then just stops with the lip tucked behind the siding. could this be channeling water behind the next row of siding (red arrow)?....

Well, it appears to lap over the lower piece. If that was a roof, I'd want a 1 1/2" to 2" gap there and and I'd have the metal 'kick-out'.
Being a chimney, water could even be getting under the metal, on the brick, and wicking into the house.
