Need info on painting a metal roof

Hi,
Looking for information in regards to painting a metal roof. It is on a mobile home located in New Hampshire, gets a lot of snow. We are looking to paint it for ease in snow removal and do not know what type of paint to get. Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks

They make paints especially for those kind of roofs. A mobile home supply store or good local hardware store should be able to give the best advice. Is it currrently the silver finish or the white?

I don't know how much a paint will help with snow, normally it's more for heat control and roof preservation.

The white is a latex elastromeric type paint. It must be applied on rust free or well primed [w/oil primer] metal.

The silver that is most often used is the fibered aluminum coating. Like elastromeric, it will seal minor leaks and will give a little heat reflection.

You can also use oil base enamel [over primer] It will dry to a gloss and might aid in snow removal - it would also be slicker and possibly hard to get a secure footing [if you need to get on the roof to remove snow]

btw - welcome to the forums!
