weatherproofing subfloor until roof is put on?- in a year or 2!
Hi,
I have the walls and slab poured for a garage, and I'd like to put the 1st floor on to act as a "sort of" roof, so I can use the garage. I'm not planning on finishing the building for a year or two, so I need to weatherproof the floor in the meantime.
Any ideas? Builders felt? Paint? 10mil plastic?
Needless to say, whatever I do to the subfloor, will either need to be permanently incorporated into the building, or be able to be removed.
Thanks,
Craig

I don't think you will be able to keep anything from rotting in two years unless you put on a proper roofing system. Do that first. You won't find any inspector that will sign off on a partially finished building, and your permit will most likely expire in one year anyway.
