missing chimney cap

A storm a few months back blew off our chimney cap and we just recently got a ladder to go up and replace it. It has rained quite a bit since it happened. What is the probability of mold forming from this and will it be easy to detect?

More than likely you should be safe from mold.

you should ok as long as you let it dry out be for you put it back on.

I had an outside chimney on the side of my house, I had an addtion put on , this addition butts up to the chimney side of the house, aswell the roof lins is approx 1' lower than the main part of the house, the chimney sits down approx 20 " from the peak of the additon, need to know in what to do to stop it from leaking , it apears it is leaking from the side in where the peak is, a conventional cricket would not work as the chimney is against the old part of the house , hard to explain, any help would be apreciatedRead More

Delivered to Wrong Roof

A deliver truck delivered bundles of shingles to my attached garage roof, the problem is I never ordered them, they were meant for a house down the street. In the process of delivering them to the roof top the punched a bunch of Nail holes to hold the bundles in place. The roof is only 4 years old and now it has 20 holes in it. I am now going after the company to replace the garage roof or compensate me financially for the damage. The shingles are discontinued and they are having a problem finding enough to replace the garage roof to match the house. Could I get some opinions on what people think is fair compensation, some contractor options who have dealt with this would be great.Read More
