chminey cricket deminsions

Are there any formulas for determining the best height and length for a chminey cricket based on slope of roof and width of chimney? Does the best height change if the chimney is located on a secondary roof just below a steep primary roof? The slope of the secondary roof is approx. one-half the slope of the primary roof (primary roof = 30 degrees, secondary roof is 15 degrees).

Thanks

I'm not a roofer but have built quite a few. Make sure it covers the chimney width. Rain may run down and under composition shingles on the cricket if the slopes are wrong. While waiting for a roofer, read: chimney crickets - Google Books
Be safe, Gary
