Question Rain water puddles in front of house and seeps in.

My front yard is gravel and slopes down to the front of the house. During a hard rain, the water puddles in the front center and seeps into the kitchen and bath. I have sand bagged the front and the up hill side of the yard. This helped but did nothing to stop the downpour directly in the front yard from puddling in front of the house. I would invite some posts ib how to approach this problem. A sump, a permanent drainage ditch or a sump of some kind. I'm too old to do it myself but I need some ideas on what to do.

If you can't correct the pitch, I would install a dry well with a surface collector.

In plain english it's a drain with pipe & a barrel. The barrel is plastic with a top. You drill alot of holes in it & bury it in the ground with gravel below & around it. A drain with a pipe going to it is at ground level. The water will go down the drain, fill the barrel & disperse through all the holes that you drilled on the side & the bottom.
