Installing a vent in a rood that has two layers of shingles

I was wondering if there is anything special i have to do when installing a roof vent (for a bathroom fan) through a roof that has two layers of shingles.

I assume that I would only install in under the top layer of shingle, not go down through both layers of shingles.
