Looking For Way To Divert Rain Water Dripping Off The Roof Without Using Gutters

I'm having some remodeling done to my house including new roof and vinyl siding. I presently have a gutter in the front of my house that I'd like to eliminate to improve the looks.

My question is whether anyone knows of long shallow tray like products that I can put on the ground to collect rain water dripping off my roof and then divert it to some other area. I'm not looking to harvest rain water, I'm simply looking to divert it without the use of gutters so it doesn't make its way into my basement.

My house is surrounded by tall pine trees and the needles quickly clog my gutters and render them ineffective. I also don't want to have gutter helmets or such products installed as they are expensive and balky looking.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks

Dom

Pour a concrete trough to catch the rain and run it to wherever you want.

Actually drooplug, I was thinking of making a trough out of treated wood. I'd use a 2x6 frame with a treated plywood bottom filled with small stones and pitched toward my driveway which is where I want to divert the water to. I would have a plastic fitting at the driveway side of the trough that I could connect a hose to. Since this trough would be behind bushes it wouldn't be visible from the front of the house until you got very close.

If I do not turn up a factory built trough, I will probably just build one.

Thanks for the suggestion.
