hi and thxs.we just had a complete tear off and new roof
installed.we put a 40 yr. arch. single by timberline on and new flashing and gutters too.
my questions are as follows; 1. the copper flashing was caulked, not
sottered, is this proper? 2.they nailed down the return copper flashing
through the roof,is this proper? 3.they used small pieces of copper
instead
of continuous 12 ft. sections of copper flashing where the roof meets
the
wall.is this proper? i really liked the roofer, and he was the high
bid.did
he do the job right? thanks!

Cool

I'm not a roofing contractor, but it sounds like he did it right to me. It's basically what I had done on my 40-year re-roof job a few years ago, and we've been through hurricanes, etc. without a leak.

Sounds like he did it right to me. the only time I have seen copper soldered on a roof is on tv on This Old House, and that is mostly for show.
