OK if this gutter guard is installed bent?

i bought one piece of

Amerimax Snap-in Gutter Filter Brown - 86279 at The Home Depot

Amerimax Snap-in Gutter Filter

and it's way too big and i didnt see any more narrow at the store, in any type. I successfully installed a piece and bent it in the shape of a U and it snapped on perfectly. Is it better to be a U vs a 'hump'? I'm not looking for a perfect solution but i cant afford a pro install system and i really need guards on this year and consumer report said these were not bad for the money

so what's ur opinion? I was thinking of maybe trying 50 ft in front of my house then waiting to see how it did this fall/winter and doing the rear next year.

The grooved edge snaps to the edge of your gutter, while the remainder slips under the edge of your shingles. Don't bend it, as it will catch everything coming off your roof and render it useless. You want it flat.
