shingle for low slope roof

Hi all, need to replace a low slope roof (just < 2/12) with shingles. Different roofers...different suggestions...different quotes.

For sure an ice & water sheild on entire surface, but then what kind of shingle and what mfg ? For eg. BP will not warranty any shingle on < 2/12 slope - we wanted to use the Harmony 35 yr. Cannot see the roofline from the street so why not use a cheaper 3 tab. Just looking for the best application here. Appreciate your suggestions

Roof it as if it were a flat roof.

I don't think the quality or style of a 3 tab shingle is going to make much difference. That is not enough pitch. Water will get under the shingles no matter if they are cheap 20 years or premium multi layers.

Short term I've found rolled roofing to work the best because of the minimal amount of seams, but I have not been able to find quality rolled roofing so the life of the roofs tends to be short. Not to mention ugly.

How about a metal roof or rubber membrane?
