Leaky Stack Vent

It appears that my roof is leaking around the main stack vent for my plumbing. What is the best way to remedy this? Is it best to install a new flange or can I simply caulk around the pipe?

I would use roofing cement, not caulking.

Also depends on the type of roof jack(?) you have now...

If its the kind with a rubber seal you can buy replacements that just slide down over the pipe.

Leaking Stack Vent

Be sure to check stack vent piping all the way back to hot wtr. tank, etc.
My daughter had similar problem and we found out that vent piping was about 90% restricted, causing condensation to form & leaking in almost every joint. If its leaking at the top only I would install rubber seal (most hardware stores have them) and roofing cement. Hope this helps.
