Roof stain removal
What is the most effective & safest way for me to remove stains from my roof? I've searched on the net for some things & figured I would ask people who have done this before.
Thanks

Thanks for your response. I would not know how to answer either of those questions. But I took a couple of pics to show you.
I hope this helps.

Mildew is what you have.....bleach solution (50/50 mark?) applied with a garden sprayer and rinse with a hose.
Installing (or having someone install) zinc strips in the upper course of shingles will prevent this in the future. Just do a search for "roof mold prevention".

One quart bleach + 1/4 cup TSP + one gallon warm water. Mix in pump sprayer and spray on roof on a cool, cloudy day. Keep moist for at least 15 minutes and then hose off with garden hose. Do not use a pressure washer.

Just found this thread and cant wait to try it... My roof has had "Skid marks" for years. Just curious if I need to worry about the runoff destroying my lawn as it exits the downspout?
thanks guys.

Dave the run off coming off of the roof should be well diluted with the water you are rinsing it with...... so I wouldn't expect any issues although you could wet the run off area with extra water as you go to make sure the bleach is well diluted.
