I had a new roof installed in January and the contractor was rarely here. I had to be on the roof each day to monitor what was going on and try to prevent any obvious errors.
After the gutters were installed I noticed that they had used different methods.
When I talked to the roofer he tried to tell me that both were OK, but I am having trouble believing him.
In addition, there are places where the felt was cut at the rake drip edge to allow the gutter to be placed under the felt. This is covered by shingles, but I still wonder if it is acceptable.
What are the hazards of having the gutter sit on top of the felt at the eaves?

- Some gutters installed under felt and shingles.
- Some gutters installed over felt but under shingles.

maybe a drip edge and not an actual gutter?
