Roofing Shingles

Question: Aren't you suppose to pull the cellophane (over the tar base) off the bottom on the asphalt shingles before you nail them down to the roof? The last two roofing company's that roofed my house did not do this.

Welcome to the Forums...
Thats a common misconception...no, it doesn't need to be removed. I've never seen a pro job with hundreds of strips of plastic fluttering around...but I've seen a few DIY jobs that way.

I'll concur with Vic, no the plastic stays put. Install the shingles just as they come from the package.
