Hi all, A portion of our backyard comprises of a pitched concrete pad which makes up the roof of the garage (corner lot with changes is elevation). The concrete has been abandoned for years because previous owners had a floating deck built over it. After removing the deck last year, all the cracks were repaired by saw-cutting a 1/4" groove and sealing with SIKA's self leveling sealant. A lot of spalling was noted but it was all chipped out till solid surface was established. Concrete had been painted previously and I wasn't able to remove it easily that is why I decided to temporarily paint over the whole surface with Behr's masonry paint. I want to put the deck back over this concrete pad, but would like to waterproof it and not worry about it for a while... I was thinking of two options: 1) Apply self-adhering base sheet Issue: surface is not perfectly smooth as about 20% of the surface is pitted from concrete spalling 2) Apply rubberized roof coating Issue: Which coating would be compatible with the masonry paint and adhere well? Any suggestion/recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Good afternoon everyone. I'm a new member of this forum, but I've searched through it looking for answers on other things. I finally joined because I'm out of stones to turn over looking for answers. I have serious yard drainage issues. All of my neighbors have yards that slope towards mine so that water can drain into a creek that is at the bottom of a hill to the right of my property. Unfortunately, someone prior to me decided to level the yard and remove the slope that allowed water to continue its course. To top that off, my whole yard slopes towards my house (2'-0" over 150"-0") causing all of that water to pool around my foundation. This water then finds its way into my basement through the walls and the seam where the walls and floor meet. I know that this hydrostatic pressure issue can destroy my foundation so my goal is to eliminate the water pooling. I'm open to any suggestions to get the water away from the foundation. I know that drilling holes in the block and redirecting the water inside to a sump pump will work, but I would rather find a way to keep the water out all together. Sealing the outside of the foundation is out as well. I talked to a waterproofing professional in our area and he said with the drainage issues that water proofing the exterior foundation will add to the pressure and cause the wall to buckle for sure. My down spouts tie in to drains that run out to the street, so my thought was that I could add some kind of yard drainage to tie into this and redirect the water. Again, any thoughts are appreciated.
