cracked/broken trusses
#1
I have a truss roof. I was in the attic this afternoon and I noticed that one of the tallest members of one of the trusses was broken. It was completely seperated at the location of a knot in the truss member.
I also noticed a different truss that has a significant crack. It is also in the location of a knot in the member.
My question is: how should I go about repairing these problems?
Thanks in advance.

Hello
A stich in time save nine...use the same size of member that is broke 2x4? and sister it along side from top of rafter cord to bottem of joist cord. you could use nails but this could pop sheet rock nail in the ceiling, use a screw gun and 3" screws place them so not to split any of the members and intall every 12" and from one side to the other...To check and see if the bottom cord or joist has gone down or has came up lay a strait edge from a joist on each side and check, if it need to be worked on do it before you sister up the new supports...
