Drip edge for shed door?
I need to add a drip edge (drip cap) over the door on my shed. I was thinking of using this (reversed of course):
2 in. x 10 ft. Galvanized Steel Drip Edge Flashing-02802R at The Home Depot
or this:
2 in. x 5 ft. Natural Aluminum Fascia Mounted Drip Edge Extension with Screws-RHDE-2A at The Home Depot
Neither of these is really for mounting over a door, but both look like they might work. The first one would be mounted opposite to how it is on a roof edge (the long side on the wall). The second one is 2" so would be my preference.
Any thoughts?

That drip edge flashing(first picture) looks kinda thin. I would go with # 2. If it is a metal shed , I would add some backing like a piece of 3/4 inch plywood on the inside of the shed so that my screws would have something to bite into.

Is there some reason you wouldn't use this? They have it oriented incorrectly in their illustration, but you get the idea. That's what drip cap looks like.
Can't really give you a definite answer without knowing what your door and siding look like on top, and the thickness of trim, etc. that it will be going over.

Yes that might work. The door is flush with the siding trim, so it's just the gap I need to keep the rain from getting into.

Ok, I've found that HD and Lowes usually only carry 2 sizes of z-flashing (drip cap). They have the 1/2" z-flashing that is used with 1/2" thick t1-11 siding, and they have the 1 1/4" z-flashing that is used over brickmould and such. Your better lumber yards will also carry one additional size that is in between, and one or two larger sizes, for different applications.
