ShedLight Roof Vent Installation

I bought 2 of those for my shed

Duraflo > DURAFLO

http://www.duraflo.com/Portals/0/Pro...ct%20Sheet.pdf

I haven't shingled the roof yet should I shingle the roof first then cut the whole like it says in the instructions or cut the hole now and shingle around?

If I install before installing the shingles I won't have that lip at the bottom I'm wondering if that could be a problem for water.

Shingle up to the bottom of the hole. Install the skylight/vent and continue shingling. That way the bottom of the vent will overlap the shingle at the bottom of the hole. Be sure to seal under the flap of the vent when you install it with Henry's or an elastomeric sealant.

Is that lip at the bottom crucial for the water to drip? The bottom lip under the shingles would look much cleaner but I don't want to have water problem in the long run.

It would look much cleaner until the wood began to rot and it fell through Water has to shed off naturally.
