Basement Getting Wet - Corrugated Drainage Plan - French Drain

Name: side.jpg
Views: 2253
Size: 11.2 KBMy basement is getting wet, my side yard has a depression that's about 15 feet in diameter.

I've dug a trench that's about 2 feet deep and 2 feet wide. I'm going to put plastic down in the bottom, some gravel, perforated corrugated pipe, (and an unperforated pipe for the gutters, more gravel, landscaping fabric on top, than soil, running down hill, and out the hill in my front yard.

Does this look okay?

Any suggestions appreciated!!

You really should dig to the footing. 2' are not enough. Seal the foundation with a membrane & correct the pitch. You may not even need the pipe.

Pulpo is correct, the foundation drain needs to be down to the footer. You also need to seal the foundation all the way down, just doing the top 2' or so isn't enough. The 2' sloped depth is fine for the gutter drain and may help but it won't seal the foundation wall!
