I have a 1.5/12 pitch roof covering aproximately 475 sq. ft. of my home. What are my roofing options?

Oops! I missed seeing your post. With only a 1.5/12 pitch, your options are pretty limited. I would suggest a metal roof.

A metal roof with that pitch is your best option.

Thanks Guys-
I have found (through much research) that a standing seam metal roof is probably my best option. This type of roofing in my area (S.E. Michigan) is being quoted at about $1000 per square if I do all the prep work (tear off, any new decking necessary, basically providing the contractor with a clean roof deck). Does this appear to be in line with nationaly averages? Can I do this myself? I am a carpenter with no experience with roofing materials other than asphalt shingles?
