Eaves damage

Today i found boxed eaves torn off by something at one end. Is it something we can fix it ourselves? Do i need to go to insurance and have someone fix it?

Repair

I would say a competent DIYer would have no trouble with this repair. You will need to remove some of the pieces of soffit and re-attach the j-channel and re-install the pieces of soffit.

If you have zero deductable you might get somewhere on the insurance. If I were you I would have someone with a bit of knowledge have a look at the way that was installed in the first place. It looks like if the rain were to come the right or wrong way, the insulation could get wet. That's not so good.
