Copper Gutter Seam Repair

I have a copper gutter that has a split seam under my porch. From the picture below you can see that the seam is on the bottom, I assume for aesthetics.

As I see it I can either repair the seam, or remove the rivets and flip the pipe so that the seam is on top. (since its under a porch, looks are not important).

Has anyone done this? Or do I need to hire someone?

Thanks

Flip it over and it should be fine. Did water freeze in the pipe and cause it to split?

I think it did freeze, there were leaves packed in the end of the line and I think moisture was trapped behind it.

Ensure there is slope in the correct direction and that the end of the pipe is above the ground so crap cannot get blocked in the end of the pipe and you should be all right. Flip it.
