Problem Spacing Gutter Hangers

I'm putting up 16 feet of vinyl gutter on a front porch I just redid but have a question on the hangers. I was told to space them every 24" apart but the rafter tails are 16" apart and I want to hook into these and not just the fascia board. So should/can I just space them 16" apart without any problems?

#1 Those vinyl gutters are trash and not worth installing.
If you install 5" K style aluminum gutters or have a real seamless gutter company make them for you Instead you can use hidden hangers and not have to worry about hitting the rafter tails, you can set a ladder against them without crushing them, there not going to leak at the joints.

Whatever route you take, using more quality hangers and spacing them closer together is a small price to pay to help the gutters resist bowing and sagging from NY winter's ice and snow buildup.
