Rock in weeping tile
My builder filled my window wells with river rock today however he also filled my weeping tile with rock. Am I the only one that thinks that's is just asking for trouble. When I called him on it he said he's been doing it that way for 30 years?

Welcome to the forums! Do the window wells have a drainage medium? Just filling them with stone isn't sufficient. The water has to go somewhere. Did he fill inside the weeping tile, or just on top of it? If just on top of it, then he is allowing water to reach the weeping tile quicker and disperse. Yes, it is normal to have a layer of stone on top of the tile, then back fill. When he had it down to the weeping tile, certainly the walls were waterproofed.

Thanks for the welcome. I've visited a lot but never posted until now. He actually filled the 4" weeping tile. I've installed enough weeping tile to know filling it with rock is not a good idea. I may suck it all out with the shop vac. I don't like the idea of rock down in my foundation weeping tile.

I can not even understand the logic of doing so.
