Materials to replace underside of metal door entry roof

Please see the attached photo. I am looking for solid ideas on replacing the luan underside of the metal roof. I replaced the luan about 5 years ago and want a better alternative. This fit needs to be tight so insects cannot nest there and the opening is not perfectly square.

Welcome to the forums! I don't know what the clearances are under the luan, but maybe vinyl soffit materials would work. You may can get stamped metal and fasten it to your under carriage with trim screws and decorative washers in an even pattern.

Remove the luan and cut a sheet of smooth fiber cement siding (hardiepanel or hardiesoffit) to fit. It's heavy so it might be a two man operation to put it up.
