Rakes with PT Wood
If I replace the rakes on the edge of my roof with PT wood, does it have to dry for some period before I can paint it?
What about using PVC boards for the rakes? Any issues here?
Thanks,

Use Cortex. PT lumber will twist on you and will look awful in a few years. Cortex has an installation system that allows for you to screw it in and insert a plug to cover the screw head, so it is virtually invisible. Cheap, no.....neither is replacing PT lumber in a few years.

Use pine and have it wrapped with coil stock.
Less expensive, no more painting or rot.
No way would I use pressure treated. And your right you have to wait months for it to dry.
Paint does not like to stick to it, solid stain would work better.
You woruld have to use all ACQ approved fasteners.

Once dry PT wood will paint as well as most other woods but I agree with the others - there are better options! The rake shouldn't be getting wet enough for you to need PT wood. Well primed/painted white would should hold up fine, if there is a design flaw causing excessive moisture to attack the wood - then it needs to either be covered or another type of material used.
