How many square feet does a bundle of shingles cover?

It depends on the type of shingle, but it usually takes three bundles to cover a square (10' X 10' = 100 sq. ft. = a roofing square).
If you're planning on ordering shingles, measure your roof areas carefully, estimate the number of squares needed, and order about 10% extra for trim and waste.
A contractor in here (I'm not one) will be able to answer you better, if you have any questions.

Old guy told you right, except you will have to add at least one more square(100 sq. ft for the ridge) If you have alot of ridge, you will need more.
