Roof Gable Vent VS Ridge Vent or Both

I have a ranch with a 44' long roof. There is a ridge vent that is 20' long centered and 12' each side without it. I also have a gable vent on each side. There is soffit venting along the whole length on both sides. Should I block off the gable vent even though the ridge vent is 12' away? Or should I keep it open?

A gable vent is defeating the whole reason for having a ridge vent.
The ridge vent will just suck in air from the gable not from the soffits.
That ridge vent also should have been across the whole roof not just in the middle like that.

IMO, it might short-circuit IF the win is directly into the gable vent.... otherwise; Roofing: Ridge @ Gable Vents, eave vent, gable vent
