wooden window and Stucco molding!

Hi, I have 65+ year old stucco home with double hung wood windows. I was planning on re coating the stucco with acrylic stucco and foam borders over the windows. and installing replacement vinyl windows in the original wood frames. While prepping for painting , I found some damage that required removing the stucco mold from the sides and top.
When I re-install these should I put Sealant between the Stucco and the Molding? I have seen plasters put sealant in before they apply the stucco
I can't tell if the paper is still intact on top but I can see it at the sides .
I didn't want to trap water in , if that is possible?
The trim had sealer on the outside edge that had been applied from the outside!
I just want to insure a leak tight window without causing an unseen problem?
Any Help Is Appreciated Thank You!

If it's opened for a few dry days, you can use sealant without trapping water.
