Support for roof inside attic.

Hello!
I am up in my attic alot, and to get from one section to the other, I have to go under the horizontal board in the picture. Is there a readi-made bracket that I can use to hold up those diagonals?

I want to just cut a piece out of that board so I can stand and slide between the sections? I was just going to put two longer 2x4's going from the floor joists up, then put another 2x4 higher across them. Then, cut the lower 2x4, but then maybe there is a bracket that I can install that will do the same thing.

Hopefully, you can see what I am getting at from the pictures.

I appreciate the help!
Regards,

Leaning

The short vertical 2x4. Add another next to it at the next rafter then cut out the section of 2x4 between the two verticals. Install a 2x4 above head height to tie together the rafters.

Dan0661,

Thanks for your help! I did up a quick picture to show what I understand you were suggesting. It looks easy enough. Thanks!

The only thing i'd change is the 2x4 at the top. I'd use a 4 or 8 footer to tie it together. Nice drawing.
