I am going to be adding a room on the back of my house this spring and I need some help figuring out how to run the roof. The only problem is trying to explain it in words, since I dont know the name of the different roofs. But here goes a try; imagine a 30' rectangle then cut it in half to make two 15' pieces then slide one back 3/4 of the way so that only 10' of these two rectangles are touching. Then on the other side of the house a room was added on pointing to the back. I want to build a room in the back of the center section between the two end. I know this is roughly put but if someone is willing to try and explain this to me, leave me a e-mail address and I will send you a rough picture of this in mspaint. Thanks

May I suggest that you go to a local drafting service and have them draw the plans for this addition? You'll need them to get the bldg. permit anyway, and for the truss mfgr. to take the truss design off of.
