Moss on Asphalt Shingle Roof

I have moss on both the upper (10 x 10 ft) and lower roof (patches) on a two story. The is a two layer asphalt shingle roof due for replacement soon. A tree blocking the sunlight to that part of the roof was removed this spring, but most of the moss is still there. I checked the attic on the upper and did see anything abnormal Is there some other problem with the roof? How to best remove the moss?

Why not just wait and it's all going to come off when the shingles come off anyway?
