leaking T & G roof

I have an older bungelow built in 1941 with a T & G cedar roof. Of course the boards have shrunk and I'm getting leaks where the shingle nails have come thru in the gaps between boards. Is there any material I can apply from inside the attic, into the gaps to seal things until I can do a proper fix in the spring?

Thanks

Mike

Nothing applied from the inside will be effective in stopping the leaks. Sorry.

Welcome to the forums Mike!

Inserting some caulk on the inside might help a little but the gaps in the roof decking aren't the reason for the leaks. Have you been up on the roof to inspect it?

Also stopping the leak on the inside means the wood of the roof above is getting soaked which will cause rot and in addition to needing roof shingle repairs, you will also have structural problems.
