sloped roof and a chimney

I am adding a slight slope to a flat roof; connecting it to an existing sloped roof. A chimney is at the juncture. Is it best to connect the two at the uppermost line of the chimney (extended); or at a mid-way point?

Welcome to the forums! Carry your new roof well past where the chimney is in order to have proper drainage around it. Be sure to flash it and, if necessary install a cricket to redirect water around it.
