water leaking between gutter and fascia

Hi found old forum on this and lost it so posting new one. I read my problem is from wrong drip edge being used I have D type instead of gutter apron. My question is can I slip gutter apron underneath shingles and over top of old drip edge so new apron entends into backside of gutter? Will this work and anyone see any problems with this? Thanks in advance. Cindy

Yes, provided you can slightly lift the shingles and fully push it in on top of the old d-style. If your shingles are brittle and can't be pryed up to nail, I'd suggest putting a few large dots of sealant (like Geocel clear) every 12" or so on the back corner of the gutter apron, so that it will glue itself to the d-style.
