Shingles stored upright

We have an unopened bundle of asphalt shingles that was stored upright for a short time. The shingles warped on one end. When we laid the package flat, with the warped portion angling upward, the shingles flattened out. Would the shingles still be usable?

Lay them out and check for cracks on the granule side.
Not worth trying to save what little they cost and have them fail later if they look bad.

A bundle of shingles isn't going to make or break the budget but a leak will.
