Dead valley differences?

Is this normal for a finished dead valley?

Roof is from a professional roofer.. The color doesn't match the shingles. And the material is not a normal tabbed shingle type of material?

Have called the roofer because I noticed from the street, but want to understand what "normal" is...

I'm not a roofer. I make it a point to stay off of the roof. However, look at the pic from google images.

That just looks like poop for lots of reasons other then the mismatch.
The shingles sure look like there's not enough over hang.
What's up with that shingle sitting at a 45 and the one just above it?
