Keep the squirrels out!
This past winter I heard some unwanted footsteps in my overhang on the side of my house. After some detective work i discovered an area where the squirrel had chewn through the mesh up underneath my gutter. The squirrels have left my overhang for the trees this summer, so now is the time to make the repair. What can i do to get that area secure and still vent properly? I don't have an attic, so I'll be attacking it from the angle the pictures were taken.

Galvanized steel mesh 1/4" hardware cloth would be my top suggestion. Similar to what you have only animal proof if secured properly. Another suggestion would be some vented aluminum soffit panels.

How do i go about securing properly? I only have the wooden rafters to attach it to, and they're spaced a ways away.
